WHY SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?

Spiritual direction provides a place to practice slowing down and noticing God’s presence in your life.

Together, through prayerful listening and reflection, we’ll practice sitting in the loving gaze of our Creator and responding to that presence and love.

OUR TIME TOGETHER

During our time together, we will discuss your relationship with God and the places you see and perhaps don’t see God at work.

This is a space for you to recognize God in your everyday life. You will practice noticing the movements of God in your soul and pay attention to your current affective relationship with God.

ABOUT ME

I have served in lay ministry for over twenty years, through discipling young people in small groups and mentoring relationships. I’ve spent my career working in educational settings and enjoy helping others connect more deeply with God.

I am particularly interested in providing space for people of color to provide affinity spaces.

For three years, I served as a pastor with my church community (Theophilus Church) outside of Portland, OR. My Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Director training were through Soul Formation.

CONFIDENTIALITY

What is said in a spiritual direction session is confidential. No one else will be privy to what is said with two exceptions. The first is that I am in a peer supervision group.

Occasionally I bring a directee to supervision to help me become a better and more thoughtful spiritual director. This group is bound by confidentiality as well. I am also a mandatory reporter. That means if harm to self or others comes up in our session, I am bound to report that and will do so.
